Immigration to the USA is a notoriously difficult process. This is not only due to the regulation and laws in place, as immigration controls, but also due to the fact but there is a vast amount of competition for immigration places into the United States. As result of such competition, United States government is set in place many laws and regulations regarding, and therefore restricting the flow of, mass immigration into the country.

United States immigration figures show that it is the largest country for successful immigration into its population, in the world. This is a telling factor about how immigration into the United States is very popular amongst immigrants from all over the world. Some of the most notable nations where immigrants arrive into the United States, from, include: Mexico, China, India, and the Philippines. With such a great amount of immigrants, it is clear the United States has a lot of immigration control to take care of.

When emigrating to the United States, not only is the process a lengthy one, but there are also a lot of control set in place once a potential immigrant arrives in the United States itself. The process of applying to become an immigrant in United States can be seen as taking into account many different factors and processes. For example, one of the most popular routes for an immigrant to take in the United States, is to apply for a green card.

A green card can be seen as one of the ultimate goals as an immigrant in the United States, as it grants its holder access to the country, legally, and even for work purposes. It is important to bear in mind that holding a green card does not make an immigrant but true citizen of the United States, however, as that is performed by a process known as naturalisation.

Once an application for United States immigration to the United States has been put through the system of government, and individual has the ability to learn whether or not they've been successful in applying to live, and/or work within the country.

Many immigrants find themselves moving to the United States for family reunification reasons, as is most popular from the United States–Mexico border. This border is notorious for harbouring much illegal activity, and even illegal border crossings by illegal immigrants. Part of the reason why so many immigrants come to the United States is so they can experience a better life and, "The American Dream". As a result of such aspirational behaviour and once from potential immigrants the United States, many immigrant families find themselves setting up businesses within America. The ability to support one's family in the United States, immigration, has been widely known factor in the increase in immigration, ever since it became popular in the 1960s.

Even though can be seen as difficult to successfully receive immigration rights in United States, where many bureaus and central government authorities that allow for the seeking of advice and application information when it comes to applying to be an immigrant in the United States.
